Company Description
Focus Health & Fitness – Private Personal Training Norwest provides "Inspiration for Life" by helping people achieve better health and fitness. Located in the Nexus building at Norwest Business Park, the studio serves clients from Norwest, Bella Vista, Baulkham Hills, Castle Hill, Kellyville, Glenwood, Kings Langley and the wider Hills District, with many members choosing Focus over larger commercial gyms across Sydney.
We're a small, family-run business — owned and operated by Ryan and Maja, with a close-knit team of coaches. That means no corporate targets, no sales quotas, and a genuine say in how things are done.
Most of our clients come to us for the same reasons people have always trained — fat loss, strength, fitness, health and energy. But a good number of them also come with challenges: health conditions, joint problems, old injuries, postural issues. That's where they really need us, and it's a big part of what we do.
We specialise in one-on-one personal training and buddy training, alongside holistic health support including pre- and post-injury management. Our coaching approach looks at the whole person rather than just the workout, and we work with clients across the lifespan, from rebuilding after injury to sustaining performance into later decades. The environment is supportive, client-centred, and designed to empower people toward greater capability and freedom in all areas of their lives.
Role Description The Personal Trainer at Focus Health & Fitness will deliver high-quality, individualised training programs to a diverse client base in our in office studio in Norwest, NSW. This part-time role involves conducting one-on-one and buddy sessions, and providing guidance on safe exercise technique and injury prevention.
The bread and butter of the role is straightforward, high-quality coaching: fat loss, toning, strength, and general fitness for everyday people who want to look, move and feel better — while knowing how to adapt when a client brings joint pain, a postural issue,
or a health condition into the session.
Around half our client base is female, spanning a wide age range, and a significant portion are training through life stages that change how the body responds to load — pregnancy and postpartum, perimenopause and menopause, and the post-menopausal years where bone density and lean mass preservation become central programming concerns. The successful applicant will be confident programming across these presentations, or genuinely keen to develop that competency with our support, and comfortable discussing them openly with clients.
The trainer will assess client fitness levels, develop tailored programs, track progress, and adjust plans to meet evolving goals including weight management, performance improvement, and rehabilitation support. Daily responsibilities include maintaining a professional and welcoming training space, collaborating with other coaches, and promoting a holistic approach to health and fitness through consistent client engagement and education.
What We Offer
You won't be building from scratch. Focus runs on established systems — structured programming libraries, assessment and intake processes, and coaching frameworks developed over 30 years — so you can focus on your clients rather than admin and guesswork. If you have the core skills below and the willingness to learn, we'll help you build the rest.
