We're seeking a Physician Advisor (Rheumatology) — Australia to help build and refine our clinician engagement approach for a clinical trial in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), systemic sclerosis (SSc), and idiopathic inflammatory myopathies (IIM).

The role is about making sure Australian clinicians managing these conditions know the trial exists, understand the eligibility criteria, and can identify patients for whom it may be appropriate. You'll be working peer-to-peer with specialists across the public and private systems.

Key responsibilities

- Build out our clinician network across rheumatology and clinical immunology - spanning public hospital outpatient departments, private specialist rooms, and rheumatology clinical nurse consultants.
- Raise clinician awareness and understanding of the trial, measured by depth of engagement, breadth of network reach, and quality of clinical discussion.
- Communicate trial rationale and eligibility criteria clearly and accurately to specialist colleagues.
- Provide clinical insight and feedback that improves how we design and run outreach, including where our eligibility criteria create avoidable friction for referring clinicians.




- Maintain structured weekly communication with the Leapcure team on progress, obstacles, and approach.

What we're looking for

- MBBS or MD with FRACP and current AHPRA specialist registration in rheumatology . We'll also consider rheumatology advanced trainees, and clinical immunologists or internal medicine specialists with substantial SLE, SSc, or IIM experience.
- Clinical familiarity with these conditions and the Australian referral pathways around them — including how public outpatient clinics and private rooms differ in practice.
- Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to hold a substantive clinical conversation with a peer rather than deliver a pitch.
- Established qualified credibility and comfort building relationships across institutions.
- Sound organisational and time-management skills; able to run several workstreams independently.
- A problem-solving disposition — able to spot where outreach is failing and propose something better.
- Genuine interest in clinical research and in improving trial access for patients.
- Fluency in English. Additional languages are a plus.

Engagement details This is an independent contractor engagement for 2 to 5 hours per week, and it is 100% remote.

Compensation is fixed per hour and is not contingent on the number of patients referred or enrolled.
