An excellent opportunity for an office-based HSEQ qualified focused on governance, systems, and continuous improvement has presented itself at this growing hazmat organisation. You will work closely with the General Manager on a daily basis, with technical oversight from the Group HSEQ function.
As the business continues to experience rapid growth and expansion, this role will act as a dedicated resource for the company. More specifically, therole centres around five core pillars - compliance, document frameworks, incident management, policies and procedures, and return-to-work coordination.
Culturally, you’ll be a collaborative team player who takes full ownership of your role and understands the impact it has on the wider organisation. You bring a calm, methodical approach and act as a trusted advisor, even in high-pressure situations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with relevant WHS legislation, industry regulations and internal standards
- Maintain and improve audit readiness across safety, quality and environmental systems
- Develop, maintain and improve the HSEQ document management framework
- Ensure policies, procedures, SWMS and registers are current, accessible and consistent
- Drive standardisation of documentation across the business
- Lead incident reporting, investigations and root cause analysis
- Identify trends and implement preventative controls
- Maintain incident registers and reporting dashboards
- Draft, review and implement HSEQ policies and operational procedures
- Drive continuous improvement across governance frameworks
- Support rollout and adoption of updated processes
- Manage injury management and return-to-work programs
- Liaise with injured workers, insurers and medical providers and ensure compliance with workers’ compensation obligations

Skills, Experience and Qualities Required
- Must have technical competence with SharePoint
- Strong return-to-work coordination experience is essential
- ISO experience is highly regarded
- Demonstrated previous experience in a similar HSEQ, WHS or Safety Officer role
- You will have a strong foundational understanding of Australian WHS legislation and compliance frameworks
- Previous experience in construction, remediation, demolition, infrastructure or high-risk industries
