We are seeking to establish a pool of Health and Physical Education (HPE) Teachers for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise in the remainder of 2026 school year and up to Term 1, 2027. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The School

Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth CBD. The Role

Suitable applicants will ideally be passionate and dedicated educators, highly motivated to work in a collaborative team environment. They would provide students with a purposeful and engaging learning experience to develop their skills, knowledge and understandings related to Health and Physical Education, supported by a variety of approaches to learning.

Joseph Banks SC has developed a number of sporting High Performance Programs; an interest and passion for supporting the development of our Soccer, Netball, or Rugby programs will be highly regarded. Suitable applicants will also ideally be dedicated and highly motivated educators with an excellent knowledge of the Senior School Western Australian Curriculum, be able to deliver content in an engaging manner and be highly effective team members. Strong knowledge and skills in the delivery of one or more Senior Secondary courses is highly desirable.

Suitable applicants will ideally possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and be able to provide engaging, relevant and meaningful learning. Suitable applicants will ideally be innovative, knowledgeable and possess thorough understandings of instructional and curriculum expertise whilst keeping abreast of the latest developments within the Learning Area. It is highly desirable that suitable applicants have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and/or Teacher Enhancement Skill Set, with experience in delivering Certificate courses.

Suitable applicants should have high expectations, display a commitment to excellence, use a range of pedagogies, and be able to establish and maintain a positive and engaging classroom-learning environment. They should display an ability to work as a collaborative team member and be committed to the development of strong professional learning communities focussed on student achievement and success.



Suitable applicants will ideally be able to display an ability to assist the school in achieving a "culture of curiosity".

Suitable applicants should have the ability to provide high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Applicants should have an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 to 12 in a highly engaging manner. Strong knowledge and skills in the effective integration of innovative and engaging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) based technologies and cooperative learning instructional strategies is highly desirable.
