About Geocon
GEOCON is Canberra's powerhouse integrated property enterprise with capabilities across development, construction, hospitality management and investment.
Our hallmark is architecturally stunning buildings that deliver a new standard of contemporary living. We set the benchmark for high-rise residential and hotel accommodation in Canberra, and continue to grow, innovate and diversify.
About the Role
We're looking for a hands‑on Senior IT Support Officer to be the operational backbone of our technology function. Reporting to the Head of Technology, you'll own the day-to-day administration, support, and reliability of our enterprise applications and IT services across every part of the business. You'll be the first point of contact when things need fixing, setting up, or improving — whether that's in the office, on a construction site, or at one of our hotels.
This is a varied, on-the-ground role for someone who enjoys solving problems, keeping systems running smoothly, and working directly with people across a genuinely diverse business.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer Microsoft 365 and our finance systems — licensing, permissions, user provisioning, security, and integrations.
- Deliver IT support across all Geocon locations, meeting response and resolution standards for corporate users, construction teams, and our hotels.
- Manage day-to-day endpoint operations — provisioning, imaging, patching, and mobile device management across laptops, desktops, and site hardware.
- Support identity and access management — starters, movers, leavers, permission changes, MFA, and access reviews.
- Own our incident and request ticketing system: logging, triage, prioritisation, resolution, and escalation where needed.
- Support network, telephony, and print environments across sites,
liaising with vendors on faults and performance.
- Deliver technology fitouts and refreshes at hotel properties and construction sites — hardware, network, printers, telephony, and user onboarding.
- Maintain our IT asset register, licence tracking, and warranty records, and support procurement.
- Assist with backup, restore, disaster recovery, and cybersecurity operations, including endpoint hygiene and access reviews.
- Escalate strategic decisions, security incidents, and material vendor issues to the Head of Technology with clear context and recommendations.
Skills Required
- A tertiary qualification or industry certification in IT, Computer Science, or a related field (Microsoft 365 admin certification highly regarded).
- 3–5 years' hands‑on experience in IT support or systems administration, ideally across a multi‑site organisation.
- Practical experience administering Microsoft 365, managing endpoints, and supporting end users across a broad range of technical issues.
- Clear, confident communication with non-technical users, even under pressure.
- A methodical, structured approach to troubleshooting and problem solving.
- A strong customer‑service mindset across a mixed user base — corporate, hospitality, and construction.
- The ability to juggle competing tickets, incidents, and small projects at once.
- A willingness to travel between sites, including hotel properties and active construction sites, as required.
Benefits
- Be part of a well‑established, growing organisation with a genuinely diverse portfolio.
- Variety in your day-to-day — no two sites (or problems) are quite the same.
- Work closely with the Head of Technology in a role with real ownership and visibility.
- A supportive team setting where your input on IT operations is valued.
