About The West Region Delivery Team

The West Region Delivery Team (WRDT) was established with Sydney Water under a collaborative contracting framework – Partnering for Success (P4S). The West Region Delivery Team is delivering design, construction, maintenance, and facility management services under a 10-year programme across Sydney Water’s wastewater, water and recycled water systems extending from Sydney’s inner west suburbs out to the Blue Mountains, including the Sydney Growth Area and part of the North West Growth Centre.

The West Region Delivery Team consortium comprises Abergeldie Complex Infrastructure and Fulton Hogan for construction, maintenance, and facility management, and Stantec and Atlas for design and engineering.

About The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Estimator to join the West Region Delivery Team, based at Sydney Olympic Park.

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in tendering and pricing mechanical scopes across Sydney Water’s water and wastewater infrastructure program. Working within the collaborative Partnering for Success framework, you will contribute to the development of competitive, innovative and commercially sound solutions across treatment plants, pumping stations, pipelines and associated mechanical systems.

With a secure pipeline of work, this is an opportunity to work on technically complex projects, collaborate with industry-leading partners and contribute to infrastructure that supports growing communities across Greater Sydney.

Key Responsibilities





- Reviewing tender documentation to ensure mechanical scope and requirements are fully understood and captured
- Preparing detailed cost estimates, take-offs and methodologies for mechanical works
- Coordinating and engaging subcontractors and suppliers for mechanical packages
- Assessing risks, opportunities and value engineering options within tenders
- Preparing tender submissions for internal review and approval
- Supporting post-tender clarification, negotiations and client engagement

What You'll Bring To The Team

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience estimating mechanical packages within water/wastewater projects
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems such as pumps, pipework, valves and treatment equipment
- Ability to manage your own tenders while contributing to broader bid teams
- Solid analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Familiarity with Australian standards, contract specifications and estimating software
