Brand Recent NY-Style Pizzeria, Balaclava

We're opening a brand new New York-style pizzeria in Balaclava and looking for an experienced Pizzaiolo/Pizza Chef to join us from the ground up.

This isn't a “slot into an existing kitchen” role — you'll be working directly with the owners to build our kitchen processes from scratch, establish our prep and cooking systems, and help shape the menu that defines who we are. If you love old-school NY pizza culture and want real input into how a new venue takes shape, this is for you.

What you'll be doing:

- Hand-tossing and baking authentic NY-style pizza (large format, foldable slices)
- Helping curate and develop our menu alongside the owners
- Establishing kitchen workflows, prep systems, and standard processes for a brand-new site
- Managing dough production, fermentation, and quality control
- Training and mentoring kitchen staff as the team grows
- Maintaining food safety and hygiene standards





What we're looking for:

- Proven experience as a pizza chef or pizzaiolo (NY-style experience highly regarded)
- Comfortable working in a startup environment — happy to build things, not just follow them
- Strong understanding of dough, fermentation, and traditional techniques
- A collaborative mindset — you'll have a real voice in early decisions
- Reliable, hands-on, and takes pride in the craft
