About the Opportunity We are partnering with a highly respected civil construction contractor seeking an experienced Plant & Yard Manager to oversee the operations of a large, well-established equipment yard in Brisbane.

This is a senior leadership prospect where you'll be responsible for the overall management of the yard, fleet operations, business systems and workshop performance while acting as the critical link between the yard and project delivery teams.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, you'll lead three direct managers and be responsible for ensuring heavy plant and equipment is maintained, compliant and available to meet project requirements. This role combines operational leadership with strategic business management and is ideally suited to someone who has successfully managed a large heavy equipment operation.

Salary & Benefits

- Up to $200,000 + Super + Company Vehicle
- Performance bonuses paid twice annually

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the day-to-day operations of a large heavy equipment yard
- Manage and mentor three direct reports across workshop and yard functions
- Oversee fleet planning, maintenance scheduling and equipment availability




- Drive operational efficiency through improved systems and business processes
- Act as the key link between project teams, workshop operations and senior management
- Manage budgets, reporting, asset utilisation and operational performance
- Ensure all plant and equipment complies with safety, maintenance and legislative requirements
- Work closely with the General Manager to support business growth and continuous improvement

What You'll Bring

- Proven experience managing a large heavy equipment or plant yard
- Strong background overseeing heavy diesel machinery and fleet operations
- Extensive hydraulic systems knowledge is essential
- Experience leading large operational teams through multiple direct reports
- Strong understanding of workshop operations, preventative maintenance and asset management
- Commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, systems and operational performance
- Excellent leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to bridge operational requirements between the yard and project delivery teams
