Full-time | Melbourne | Primarily in person
We’re looking for a Podcast & Content Producer to join the She’s on the Money team.
Not just someone who can book a guest, press record and hope for the best.
We’re looking for someone who can spot a brilliant episode idea, shape it into something people genuinely want to listen to, prepare the talent, manage the studio, capture great video content and make sure the whole thing actually goes live on time.
This is a hands-on, creative and highly collaborative role working across the She’s on the Money podcast network and Pivotal Conversations Studios.
You’ll work closely with Victoria Devine, our audio engineer, copywriter, social media team and partnerships team to make sure our podcasts are not operating in their own little universe.
Everything we create should feel connected.
Our podcast episodes should reflect what our social team is talking about, support broader campaigns, align with sponsor partnerships and give our audience a cohesive experience across every platform.
In other words, we want someone who can see the whole content ecosystem, not just the audio file.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll help take episodes from “this could be a great idea” through to recording, editing, publication and promotion.
That includes
- Developing new episode ideas, formats, guests, hooks and titles
- Researching topics and helping prepare scripts, outlines and interview questions
- Managing the podcast production calendar and keeping everything moving
- Coordinating recordings, guests, talent and contributors
- Setting up and managing microphones, cameras, lighting and studio equipment
- Capturing high-quality podcast video, social clips and behind-the-scenes content
- Liaising with our audio engineer and providing clear editing briefs
- Editing and publishing episodes when a fast turnaround or last-minute recording requires it
- Writing or contributing to show notes, episode descriptions, EDMs and supporting content
- Working closely with social, copy and partnerships so our content feels connected
- Helping manage the day-to-day operation of Pivotal Conversations Studios
- Keeping the studio organised, professional and ready for guests
You’ll also take ownership of our Money Diaries talent pipeline. This means reviewing applications,
pre-interviewing potential diarists, finding the real story beneath the numbers and making sure each participant is comfortable, prepared and ready to have a great conversation with Victoria.
A fascinating spreadsheet does not always make a fascinating podcast guest, so strong editorial judgement is essential.
Who we’re looking for
You are creative, organised, technically capable and slightly obsessed with making good content.
You can come up with a solid episode idea in the morning, troubleshoot a microphone before lunch and write a punchy title in the afternoon.
You don’t need to be the world’s most senior audio engineer, because we already work with an experienced engineer. You do, however, need enough audio experience to confidently record, edit and publish an episode when required.
You’ll ideally have
- Experience producing podcasts, radio, video or digital content
- Practical audio recording and editing skills
- Confidence using microphones, cameras, lighting and studio equipment
- Strong editorial instincts
- Experience researching, interviewing or preparing talent
- Excellent organisation and project-management skills
- Solid writing and copywriting ability
- An understanding of social-first video
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines without creating unnecessary chaos
- A collaborative working style
- A genuine interest in media, money, culture and the conversations people are having right now
Experience in financial media is helpful, but it is not essential. Curiosity, judgement and the ability to make complicated ideas feel interesting and accessible matter much more.
You’ll probably love this role if you
- Like having both creative freedom and real responsibility
- Naturally think three steps ahead
- Notice when something could be better and actually do something about it
- Enjoy working closely with writers, editors, hosts, social teams and commercial partners
- Can remain calm when a guest is late, a cable disappears or an episode suddenly needs to go live tomorrow
- Care about both the big idea and the tiny details
- Want to help build and shape something, rather than simply maintain it
A note about location As much as we love flexible work, this role cannot be done remotely.
The successful candidate will need to be Melbourne-based and available to work primarily in person.
You’ll be helping manage our studio, supporting in-person recordings, welcoming guests and capturing video content, so unfortunately this is not one of those “work from the beach with a laptop” situations.
Some administrative or writing work may be completed from home by agreement, but the heart of this role happens in the studio.
