An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced and reliable Polywelder to operate state of the art plastic welding technology. Our client is a supplier and solutions provider in the fluid movement and water services industry, with over 40 years of supporting projects across mining, civil, agriculture, aquaculture, and associated sectors. From design and raw material sourcing through to manufacturing, fabrication, distribution, and delivery their extensive product range includes polyethylene (PE) pipe spigot fittings, electrofusion fittings, valves, flanges, pipe systems, PE welding equipment, and specialised fabricated items, all designed to meet strict Australian and international standards.
This is a workshop role focusing on fabrication of polyethylene (PE) spools and assemblies for a variety of projects with high level of autonomy and responsibility.
You’ll be part of a small hands-on workshop team.
Key Responsibilities
- Poly welder (extrusion / electro-fusion welding with flanges / valves and fittings).
- Operate and maintain plastic welding technology.
- Autonomous worker able to work with limited supervision
- Accurately complete job and time records.
- Maintain equipment and uphold a robust safety culture by following WHS procedures and reporting hazards.
Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in poly welding or equivalent fabrication experience
- Certificate in Electro Fusion & Extrusion welding (Certificate III in plastics fabrication, or equivalent) – desirable
- Experience with a variety of plastics (HDPE, PP, PVC)
- Strong ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings.
- Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused with a positive attitude.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Forklift or EWP license desirable.
