About the role

We are seeking an experienced and organised Practice Manager to join Byford Family Practice on a full-time basis. This is a pivotal role that will be based in Byford, WA 6122, and will be fundamental to the smooth operation and success of our practice.

As Practice

Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of all non-clinical operations, ensuring that our practice runs efficiently whilst maintaining the highest standards of patient care and safety. You will oversee staff management, financial administration, compliance, and strategic planning, working closely with the clinical team to create an environment where excellence thrives. This role requires a proactive, strategic thinker with strong leadership capabilities and a genuine commitment to supporting both our team and our patients.

Key responsibilities

· Manage all administrative and operational functions of the practice, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and efficient workflow

· Oversee staff recruitment, training, scheduling, and performance management, fostering a positive and productive workplace culture

· Manage financial operations including budgeting, invoicing, payroll, and financial reporting to ensure the practice remains financially sound

· Maintain compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, including privacy legislation,



occupational health and safety requirements, and quality standards

· Manage practice policies and procedures, keeping documentation current and ensuring all staff are trained and aware of their obligations

· Oversee patient records management, appointment scheduling, and reception operations to ensure optimal patient experience

· Liaise with medical suppliers, service providers, and external organisations to maintain quality standards and manage costs effectively

· Lead practice improvement initiatives and quality assurance programmes to enhance clinical and operational outcomes

· Prepare reports and present recommendations to the practice leadership regarding practice performance and strategic opportunities

· Support the clinical team by managing administrative barriers and ensuring they have the resources needed to deliver excellent patient care

What we're looking for

· Proven experience as a Practice Manager or in a similar healthcare management role, ideally within a general practice setting

· Strong knowledge of general practice operations, including patient management systems, billing processes, and healthcare compliance requirements

· Excellent leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team

· Sound financial management expertise, including budgeting, financial planning, and cost control

· Thorough understanding of healthcare regulations, privacy legislation, and occupational health and safety requirements relevant to Australian general practice





· Exceptional organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

· Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with clinical staff, patients, suppliers, and external stakeholders

· Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

· Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements

· A genuine commitment to patient-centred care and supporting clinical excellence

· Relevant qualifications such as a qualification in healthcare management, business administration, or a related field would be advantageous
