Ongoing teaching contract with initial three-year POR

Chairo Christian School is a non-denominational Christian school with 1,900 Kinder to Year 12 students attending five picturesque campuses in West and South Gippsland, the Latrobe Valley and the south-eastern outskirts of Melbourne.

Our mission is to provide excellence in Christ-centred education in partnership with families within a caring Christian community. In doing this, we aim to prepare students thoroughly for further study, careers, service and life in general.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Head of Music to commence at our Pakenham campus in January 2027. A teaching load will apply in addition to Head of Music responsibilities (initial three-year position of responsibility appointment).

The Head of Music (Pakenham) plays a pivotal leadership role in facilitating a quality music education program by coordinating and implementing classroom music education opportunities from Prep to Year 12 and developing a culture of music appreciation amongst students.

Having obtained relevant tertiary qualifications in education and being registered with the Victorian Institute of Teaching,



the successful candidate will also possess the following important characteristics:

- Active Christian lifestyle and demonstrated agreement with Chairo’s Statement of Faith
- Experience in an educational leadership position or substantial experience as a respected teacher
- Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum, including familiarity with the materials and programs associated with the Music curriculum
- Sound knowledge of current educational practices and teaching from a Christian worldview perspective
- Ability to build strong partnering relationships and communication channels with all members of the campus community
