Maxwell Recruitment and Training have been a specialist supplier of skilled labour into the heavy industry for over 13 years and currently have multiple Trade Assistants on offer in the Mechanical Engineering sector. This is an excellent opportunity for mechanically minded individuals to progress their skillsets into a career within an industry that is thriving in Newcastle and the Hunter. In this position you will play a crucial role in assisting skilled Tradesmen in carrying out mechanical repairs, upgrades and services to underground Monorails.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and assembly of mechanical equipment and machinery.
- Perform routine inspections and basic troubleshooting.
- Prepare and organise tools, materials, and equipment for jobs.
- Clean and maintain work areas and equipment.
- Assist in the movement of heavy machinery and components.




- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.

Requirements

- Previous experience in a mechanical workshop or similar environment is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
- Safety-conscious and willing to follow all safety guidelines.
