This is an outstanding opportunity for a lawyer, particularly with experience in commercial and property law, to contribute to the work of the Department of the Workplace, Tourism, Science and Innovation (DETSI). The role offers the chance to support significant Queensland Government initiatives, including procurement and funding arrangements, property transactions, major project contracts, and practical legal issues that advance environmental, tourism, science and innovation outcomes.

You will apply strong legal knowledge and sound judgment across diverse, engaging and significant legal and contractual matters.

As the Senior Lawyer, you will:

- Provide quality and timely legal advice and services, with minimal supervision, on a wide range of legal areas including general contract and commercial, government, property,



litigation, statutory interpretation and administrative law. Experience in commercial and/or property law will be highly regarded.
- Exercise initiative and respond quickly and effectively to non-routine, urgent matters requiring legal advice.
- Develop and maintain appropriate internal and external networks.
- Liaise with Crown Law and other external legal services providers to ensure a consistent, coordinated and cost effective approach to the provision of legal services.
- Participate in the implementation of staff development and training programs and improved systems, methods and procedures to facilitate efficiency in the operation of Legal Services.
- Other duties as directed and required.
