About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Event Manager - Major Events to join our dynamic team for our Major Events Season. This is a contract position that requires you to be available for full-time work from start of August to end of April.
As the Event Manager - Major Events, you will play a pivotal role in the event planning for this iconic event. Your expertise in food and beverage, combined with your proven track record in event management, will be vital in delivering an exceptional experience to our clients and guests.
Responsibilities will include:
- Event planning to ensure client requirements are met
- Effectively build rapport with all clients to deliver them the highest level of event;
- Carry out administrative and operational tasks associated with managing this event; this includes but is not limited to:
- Creation and/or review of Event Floor Plans on behalf of clients and contractors; with consideration for kitchen & operations teams.
- Creation and revision of Event Orders using Monday.com
- Creation and revision of Event Summaries in preparation for Event and Logistic Meetings
- All Associated Event Costing’s
- Respond appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner to external questions and /or concerns from clients;
- Brief all project team members through provision of accurate event orders and by active participation in meetings to ensure a clear understand of the clients event requirements;
- Manage event budgets, monitor expenses, and strive to achieve financial targets while maintaining high service standards.
- Account manage key clients and encourage further business growth through strong relationship management and ability to develop value adding solutions that result in high margin Event revenue.
About you
You will have a minimum of 3 years experience in major event management in a catering or hospitality setting and be passionate delivering exceptional experiences. In addition the ideal candidate will have:
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage operations, including menu planning, procurement, and inventory management.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, with a keen eye for detail and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and team members at all levels.
- Current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) Certificate
- Right to work in Australia
- The flexibility to work full-time beginning August to the end of April 2027.
