Camperdown Cellars
New South Wales
Liquor Store Retail Sales & Customer Experience Specialist
Full Time
Join one of Australia's most awarded independent liquor retailers.
Build your career with Camperdown Cellars
Camperdown Cellars is a proud Australian family business that has been serving local communities since 1947.
With eight premium stores across Sydney's Inner West, City, Eastern Suburbs and Lower North Shore, we've built our reputation on exceptional customer service, outstanding product knowledge, and a strong independent identity.
Our commitment to excellence has been recognised nationally, including:
- National Liquor Store of the Year – 2014
- National Liquor Store of the Year – 2023
- National Retail Liquor Group of the Year – 2025
We're looking for someone who shares our passion for service and wants to help grow an independent business with a distinguished Australian legacy.
About the prospect
Unlike the larger liquor retailers, you won't be a cog in the machine, but will work closely with the owner-operators to help grow the business.
You'll become part of a supportive, high-performing team that prides itself on creating memorable customer experiences. Every day is different, whether you're recommending the perfect wine, helping customers discover a new craft beer, building premium displays or learning directly from Australia's leading suppliers.
If you're positive, reliable and enjoy working with people, we'd love to hear from you.
What you’ll be doing
- Deliver outstanding customer service with every interaction.
- Assist customers with product recommendations across wine, beer, and spirits.
- Create attractive merchandising and displays.
- Receive, replenish, and rotate stock.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and well-presented store.
- Operate the point-of-sale system accurately.
- Work collaboratively with your team to achieve store goals.
- Assist across our network of Sydney stores when required.
- Continue learning through supplier tastings, training, and product education.
We're looking for someone who has
- A genuinely positive, friendly, and professional attitude.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- A strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Flexibility to work a rotating roster, including weekends, evenings and public holidays when required.
- A current NSW Driver Licence and reliable transport.
- The flexibility to work across our Sydney store network.
- A current NSW Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.
- The right to work in Australia.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
While previous retail or hospitality experience is valued, it's not essential.
We are far more interested in finding people with the right attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine commitment to customer service.
To be successful, you’ll also bring
- Strong employment references.
- A demonstrated history of reliability and attendance.
- A stable employment record.
- Pride in your work and personal presentation.
- Honesty, integrity, and accountability.
- A team-first mindset and a willingness to help wherever needed.
What you’ll receive
At Camperdown Cellars, we believe great people deserve a great workplace.
You’ll enjoy:
- Full-time, permanent employment.
- Ongoing product training and career development.
- Learning opportunities with Australia's leading wineries, breweries, and spirit producers.
- Career progression into leadership and management roles.
- A supportive team culture built on respect and collaboration.
- Employee purchasing benefits.
- Job security with one of Sydney's most established independent retailers.
Why join Camperdown Cellars?
People stay with us because we invest in them.
We're proud of the culture we've created—one built on trust, teamwork, respect, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional service. We celebrate success, recognise hard work, and provide genuine opportunities for career growth.
If you're looking for more than just a job and want to build a rewarding career with one of Australia's most respected independent liquor retailers, we'd love to hear from you.
Please note:
- This is a full-time position based in Sydney.
- Applicants must be willing to work across any of our Sydney store locations.
- A current NSW Driver Licence and NSW RSA certificate are essential.
