Position Profile: Inconjunction with the Senior Occupational Therapist, plans,implements and evaluates timely and culturally appropriateOccupational Therapy services to clients, families and thecommunities in Derby and the Fitzroy Valley.

This is a Permanent Full Timeappointment.

Area Profile: WACHSKimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. TheKimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of thepopulation are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people.WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mentalhealth unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office.WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health,remote area health, community aged care, and mental health servicesacross the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing,Aboriginal health, allied health and support staff.

SuitabilityCriteria:

1. 1. Demonstrated knowledge and experience ofOccupational Therapy for a generalist caseload including primaryhealth care, outpatient, and acute settings, across the lifespan,including the ability to plan, develop and evaluate OccupationalTherapy programmes.
2. 2. Demonstrated understanding ofcultural factors and social determinants particularly relating toAboriginal health, inclusive of Current C Class drivers licence andan ability and willingness to travel including overnight stays awayfrom home to provide Occupational Therapy services away frombase.
3. 3. Proven effective timemanagement, caseload management and organisationalskills.
4. 4. Proven effective interpersonaland verbal and written communication skills and ability to work asa member of a multidisciplinary team.
