We are now seeking a Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous who will contribute to our whole-of-University commitment to promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation, engagement, education and research.

Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Indigenous Strategy and Services), this role provides strategic leadership and advice on the objectives of the University’s One Sydney, Many People Indigenous strategy and the broader University strategic priorities.

The Pro Vice-Chancellor, Indigenous role is a member of the University Executive Indigenous Committee (UE IC) and will work in close collaboration with the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, Research, the Director of Indigenous Research, faculty level Associate Deans Indigenous, the National Centre for Cultural Competence and the Gadigal Centre. Areas of focus for this role include the embedding of Indigenous knowledge across curriculum, implementation of student pathway programs (including the Extended Bachelor Program), and advancing One Sydney, Many People initiatives that elevate Indigenous research.

Indigenous will also assist the University to strengthen government and industry networks along with continued positive community interactions with Indigenous Australians. This role has robust involvement with, and requires a deep understanding of, the issues relating to and affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, as well as an ability to communicate sensitively and effectively.

The successful candidate will hold a PhD and identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
