Procurement Capability Services

Purpose of the role

You'll provide end-to-end procurement support to ensure procurements are:

- Completed on time
- Compliant with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
- Value for money
- Well documented
- Audit-ready

The role also helps build procurement capability across the organisation.

What you'll be doing

Procurement Planning

- Meet with stakeholders to understand requirements
- Prepare Spending Proposals
- Assess risks
- Develop procurement strategies
- Prepare approval papers

Market Research
- Research suppliers and the market
- Analyse pricing and supplier capability
- Identify existing government panels and contracts
- Engage with suppliers while maintaining probity

Approach to Market (ATM)
- Prepare RFQs, RFTs and RFIs
- Draft evaluation criteria
- Prepare procurement documentation
- Publish procurement requests
- Respond to supplier questions

Evaluation
- Develop evaluation plans
- Coordinate evaluation panels
- Assess submissions
- Prepare evaluation reports
- Make value-for-money recommendations

Negotiation & Contracting
- Develop negotiation strategies
- Negotiate with suppliers
- Finalise pricing and contract terms
- Prepare contracts for execution

Contract Management
- Support contract implementation
- Develop contract management plans
- Monitor supplier performance
- Manage contract variations and extensions
- Provide advice on contract issues





Skills Required

Candidates should have

- Commonwealth procurement experience
- Strong knowledge of Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs)
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills
- Robust writing and analytical skills
- Procurement or contract management qualifications (preferred)
- Experience in Commonwealth Government

Security Clearance Must be able to obtain and maintain:
- NV1 Security Clearance (minimum)
