Due to a period of leave, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced procurement professional to join the organisation for the next 3-6 months, and lead a small team while driving strategic procurement initiatives, strengthening governance frameworks, and partnering with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver commercial and value-for-money outcomes.

About the Role

This is a role for someone who enjoys balancing strategy with operational delivery. You will have the opportunity to influence procurement practices across the business, improve systems and processes, develop capability within operational teams, and build strong supplier partnerships that support long-term organisational success.

Key responsibilities include

- Leading the end-to-end procurement and contract management function.
- Managing and mentoring a small procurement team.
- Reviewing and enhancing procurement policies, frameworks and governance.
- Providing expert procurement advice to senior leaders and key stakeholders.




- Leading tender and sourcing activities while ensuring legislative compliance.
- Driving category management initiatives, supplier performance and commercial outcomes.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and implementing more efficient procurement processes.
- Delivering procurement training and building capability across the organisation.

About You To be successful, you will bring:

- Demonstrated experience in strategic procurement, contract management and category management.
- Strong knowledge of procurement legislation, governance and best practice frameworks.
- The ability to influence, negotiate and build trusted relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience leading tender processes and delivering commercially sound procurement outcomes.
- Excellent written communication skills and experience preparing procurement documentation.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to coach and develop others.
- Previous experience within local government or the public sector will be highly regarded but is not essential.
