At The Instillery, we’re on a mission to build something genuinely different from the standard MSP mold. We’re a fast-moving, high energy group of technical experts across Aotearoa and Australia who love solving hard problems for our customers. Reporting to the Chief Product Officer, you’ll bring product discipline to a services environment.

You’ll work alongside our engineering, sales, and ops teams to take raw service capability and turn it into clear, repeatable, and scalable offerings that customers actually need.

You’ll look at everything we build through three basic lenses:

1. Desirability: Spending real time with customers to get to the root of their pain points (not just taking feature requests at face value).
2. Viability: Getting the commercial model right – pricing, gross margin, cutting waste, and proving the ROI.
3. Feasibility: Making sure our services teams can deliver it consistently at scale, knowing where to automate, and writing practical SOPs (while knowing when a human needs to take over).

What you’ll be doing day to day:

- Co-creating vendor agnostic, outcome focused offerings using Lean and Design Thinking approaches.
- Leading front-line conversations, running pilots, and gathering real evidence before we invest in building.
- Partnering with technical teams to build transparent SOPs,



proof-of-value reporting, and embedding AI and automation from day one.
- Running cost models in spreadsheets, managing the product backlog, and keeping the Senior Leadership Team aligned on priorities.
- Creating the collateral, contracts, and knowledge base content so Sales, Marketing, and Operations are setup for success.

Who You Are

You might already be a Product Manager, or you might be a senior technical consultant, Ops leader, or delivery specialist who’s spent years fixing the gap between what was sold and what could actually be delivered, and now you want to solve that problem at the design stage.

What we’re looking for:

- 5+ years in tech services (MSP, ITSP, telco, or similar) with a solid understanding of how services are priced, sold, and delivered.
- You’re comfortable leading conversations, presenting ideas, and digging into actual customer problems.
- You know your way around vendor ecosystems (Microsoft, Zscaler, Wiz, etc.), understand framework basics (ITIL, Essential Eight, NIST), and can model margins in Excel.
- You prefer testing and iterating over long slide decks. You ask “why?”, give feedback directly, and adapt quickly when plans change.
