InnoTherm is a heat transfer solutions specialist committed to the design and delivery of industrial heat transfer solutions to domestic and export low volume / niche markets. The company is a dynamic and rapidly growing business located in Tottenham (7 km from Melbourne CBD).
Customers include global leaders in their fields such as Caterpillar, Kenworth and many others. This finds InnoTherm working on a diverse range of applications from large mining, truck, off-road vehicles, power stations, rail locomotives to the oil and gas industry.
About the role
The position offered is a full-time permanent role working within a team of engineers who work closely with customers to provide engineered solutions, from concept to manufacture, installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop innovative industrial cooling solutions from concept through to completion.
- Lead concept development and product design activities.
- Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Prepare technical documentation, including manuals, reports, specifications, and supporting project documentation.
- Manage engineering projects from initial concept through to implementation and commissioning.
- Collaborate with customers, production teams, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain and improve drafting standards, libraries, work instructions, and drawing office documentation.
- Ensure all work complies with InnoTherm's ISO 9001 Quality Management System and company procedures.
Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology, or an equivalent qualification.
- A minimum of 2 years' experience in a mechanical design and drafting role, preferably within a manufacturing, fabrication,
or industrial equipment environment.
- Demonstrated experience using SolidWorks for 3D modelling, design, and manufacturing drawing creation.
- Experience working collaboratively with workshop/production personnel, engineers, customers, and suppliers.
- A sound understanding of fabrication and manufacturing processes, including welding, cutting, machining, and assembly.
- Experience managing engineering projects from concept through to implementation.
- Strong technical documentation skills, including the preparation of drawings, reports, manuals, and work instructions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality management systems and associated documentation practices.
- Knowledge of heat transfer principles and thermal system design would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
- Australian work rights or a valid work visa.
