Production Manager – Caravan Manufacturing

Position Purpose

We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production Manager to supervise the day-to-day manufacturing of our caravans.

The main responsibility of this role is to ensure the production floor is functioning efficiently, employees understand their daily tasks, required parts and materials are available, and each caravan progresses smoothly through every stage of the manufacturing process.

You will oversee production from chassis setup through framing, plumbing, electrical work, cabinetry, internal fit-out, external cladding, finishing, quality checks, and final pre-delivery inspection.

This role requires robust communication with factory staff, purchasing, and management. You will monitor the progress of each caravan, identify production issues or missing parts, assist with resolving delays, and provide regular updates to management.

Key Responsibilities

Production Supervision

Supervise daily caravan manufacturing activities and ensure employees are completing work in the correct order and to the required standard.

Workflow Coordination

Coordinate work across chassis setup, framing, plumbing, electrical, cabinetry, internal fit-out, external cladding, finishing, and detailing.

Build Progress Tracking

Monitor each caravan throughout the production process and keep management updated on completed work, delays, outstanding items, and expected completion dates.

Parts and Materials Coordination

Check that required parts, appliances, fittings, and materials are available before each stage of production begins. Report missing or incorrect parts and coordinate with purchasing to prevent unnecessary delays.

Quality Monitoring

Inspect work throughout the manufacturing process and ensure defects, incomplete work, water leaks, electrical issues, plumbing faults, and cosmetic damage are corrected before final inspection.

Team Supervision

Provide daily direction to assembly workers, cabinet makers, trade assistants, and other production employees.



Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and production priorities.

Problem Solving

Identify issues affecting production and work with staff, trades, suppliers, and management to find practical solutions.

Production Targets

Help maintain daily and weekly production schedules by monitoring progress, organising workflows, and addressing delays.

Workplace Safety

Ensure employees follow workplace safety procedures, use equipment correctly, and maintain a clean and organised factory environment.

Final Production Checks

Confirm that all manufacturing work and outstanding defects have been completed before the caravan proceeds to final PDI and handover preparation.

Required Skills and Experience

- Previous experience supervising production within the caravan, RV, trailer, automotive, or similar manufacturing industry.
- Good understanding of caravan manufacturing processes.
- Knowledge of framing, cabinetry, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, fittings, and external caravan finishes.
- Ability to supervise employees and coordinate multiple stages of production.
- Strong organisation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to identify missing parts, production delays, and workmanship issues.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to update production records and schedules.
- Good understanding of workplace health and safety requirements.
- Ability to work closely with factory staff and company management.

About You You will be practical, organised, reliable, and comfortable working directly on the factory floor.

You will have the ability to supervise employees, monitor multiple caravan builds, identify issues early, and ensure the correct parts and materials are available when required.

You must be able to communicate clearly, maintain production flow, and help ensure every caravan is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Pay: $71,179.98 – $131,994.48 per year
