Work that matters, done with people who care
As a Professional Driver in Waste Services, you collect and transport waste and FOGO materials across Blacktown City. You start each day by inspecting your vehicle, completing safety checks and preparing for scheduled collection routes. You operate heavy vehicles, use GPS and telematics systems, and work safely to complete collections on time.
You work across residential and commercial areas, collecting waste using manual and mechanical aids. You complete daily run sheets, report operational issues, respond to customer needs and help maintain high service standards. At times, you also support bin maintenance and clean up activities as part of the wider Waste Services team.
Every route helps keep neighbourhoods clean, safe and welcoming. Your work supports residents, businesses and visitors by providing a reliable service the community depends on each week. You see the results of your work every day through cleaner streets and well managed waste services.
Blacktown City Council provides stable employment, contemporary vehicles and ongoing training. You build your skills through workplace learning, safety programs and opportunities to grow your career across Council. This role suits a confident HR licensed driver who takes pride in their work, values safety,
works well independently and enjoys being part of a team delivering an essential community service.
At Blacktown City Council, good people make great teams, and great teams build great cities. Here, you will find the stability and support to keep growing, along with:
- a secure, permanent, full-time role with one of Australia's largest councils
- an entry level salary commencing at $1,508.89 per week
- a 38-hour working week, plus a compulsory 1 hour overtime per day
- a Rostered Day Off (RDO) every month
- 12% superannuation and competitive leave entitlements
- ongoing training and development support
- access to Fitness Passport, social clubs and wellbeing programs.
