Milton

“We Make It Happen” is our motto, and it shapes how we operate day to day.

At Global Sourcing Services (GSS), we partner with customers and suppliers to turn ideas into real products. From concept through to delivery, we navigate the complexities of product development and offshore manufacturing across metal fabrication, CNC machining, plastic moulding, casting and other product categories. Our customers range from household-name Australian brands to specialist manufacturers, and our supply base is primarily across Vietnam and China.

The role

This is primarily a project coordination and support role, with the opportunity to help customers develop and create products. You'll help keep projects moving across customers, suppliers and internal teams, while using design skills and creativity where they add value.

You'll support our existing project managers on real projects from day one. A love of learning is essential, and the best way to learn here is on the job. As your confidence and experience build, you'll move towards running your own projects. SolidWorks skills will be extremely valuable for developing or refining parts. One of the most rewarding parts of the role is helping to turn ideas and concepts into reality.

What you'll be doing

· Getting closely involved with real products and customers, not just paperwork: quoting, scheduling, costing, quality checks, logistics and supplier follow-up across a wide mix of industries and materials

· Help move projects forward across sourcing, development, production and delivery.

· Learn how to take a job from early idea to delivered product, working through manufacturability and bridging the gap between what customers want and what suppliers can make.

· Use SolidWorks and design skills and AI where value can be added.

· Jumping into the problems that make manufacturing interesting, adapt quickly and help implement practical solutions. Every day is different.

· Get hands-on with the work including inspecting parts, handling samples, understanding how products are made, and finding practical ways to test and break samples, all with the goal of delivering great products to our customers.

What we're looking for

· A hands-on instinct. Whether that has come from a design studio, a workshop, a factory floor, a uni project or a shed at home, we want someone who's genuinely interested in how things are put together.

· Project coordination ability. You can stay on top of multiple jobs, keep actions moving, follow up clearly, and help customers, suppliers and the team stay aligned. Communication is key

· Design capability is a strong advantage. SolidWorks skills, creative design and an eye for manufacturability will be very valuable. For the right person,

the role may involve substantial design work, but it is not a pure design desk role.

· A real appetite to learn. This role never stops teaching you. New materials, new processes, new industries, new problems, current solutions. The people who do well here are the ones who find this energising rather than exhausting.

· Team-focused ownership. You take responsibility, keep others informed, follow up clearly, and help the team get things done.

· Clear communication. With our team first and foremost. Followed by customers, and with suppliers who may not share your first language.

You don't need years of manufacturing experience. We'll teach you a great deal of that. The desire and ability to learn is more important.

What we offer

- Serious on-the-job training. You'll learn more about how things get made here in a year than most people do in five
- Genuine variety across industries, materials, products and customers
- Real ownership and influence in a small, capable team
- Mentorship from people who've spent careers in manufacturing and product development
- International supply chain exposure, with travel encouraged to suppliers across Asia

· A flat, supportive team environment where people help each other, pitch in where needed, and a family run management that genuinely wants you to do well. If you enjoy turning ideas into drawings, testing whether they work, and improving them until they do, this is a place where that mindset is genuinely valued.
