Peel Health Campus transitioned to South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) in August 2024,

marking the beginning of an exciting new era for healthcare in the Peel-Murray region. The transition has enabled significant investment in the future of local health services, including plans for a new purpose-built public hospital on the existing site. Alongside the 192-bed Peel Health Campus, the Group includes Murray District Hospital, which provides inpatient medical, palliative care and allied health services. Together, these facilities support the delivery of high-quality care closer to home. The planned redevelopment will expand services, modernise facilities and improve access to healthcare for the growing Peel-Murray community.
