Disability Support Worker / Enrolled Nurses

We are URGENTLY hiring Disability Support Workers and Enrolled Nurses for community access, personal care, in-home care and occasional SIL cover.

WE ARE HIRING FOR CLIENTS LOCATED IN MARSDEN, MUNRUBEN, BEAUDESERT, & GOLD COAST.

The successful candidate/s will be joining an active, passionate, multicultural and diverse workforce that take pride in what they do.

Reliability and communication skills are a must. Some shifts are short notice or sick leave cover.

Skills and Experience - preferred

- Previous experience and/or qualifications within the disability sector, mental health speciality, or with neurodiverse participants (ASD, ADHD, Asperger’s, ODD).
- For Disability Support Workers- Education in a relevant area – minimum Certificate III in Disability, Community Services, Aged Care or Individual Support, or currently completing health-related undergraduate bachelor’s degree (Nursing, Paramedicine, Allied Health, Social Sciences).
- Previous experience in supporting participants aged 7 and above with disabilities- including but not limited to- ADHD, ASD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Drug Induced Psychosis, Depression, Anxiety and Complex PTSD.
- Experience in dealing with complex and challenging behaviours, aggressive behaviour management, verbal de-escalation, restrictive practices (if required), manual handling/hoisting and medication assistance will be highly regarded.
- Ability to maintain strong professional boundaries, follow directions and follow PBSP/safety plans.
- Exceptional interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills is a must. Notes will be written per shift, and thorough reporting is required.

On-the-job and extra training/upskilling will be provided by an experienced and qualified Clinical Nurse Consultant, and 24/7 support is available.





All required documentation should be completed before applying:

- Yellow card/NDIS Worker Screening Check
- Blue card/ Working With Children Check
- Own reliable car/transport/comprehensive insurance and able to show same and AUS drivers licence
- Criminal history check in the last 12 months
- For Registered/Enrolled Nurses- AHPRA registration without restrictions
- Rights to work in Australia/VISA
- 2 references that will respond to appropriate checks via email or phone
- Certificate III in Individualised Support or completing a relevant qualification.

- The ability to work a rotating shift work roster is a must.

Duties and responsibilities may include:

- Personal care: showering, dressing, and grooming if needed.
- Domestic assistance: light household cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
- Community Access: social activities, grocery shopping.
- Assistance in travelling to medical appointments.
- Supporting clients in the use of mechanical aids and personal equipment including wheelchairs, manual or electric hoists, slide sheets, moving boards and handling belts.
- Supporting clients who have mental health and medical challenges.




- Supporting clients with complex and/or challenging needs.
- Follow the company policies and procedures and code of conduct.
- Monitoring the well-being of clients reporting and documenting on their progress (will require a smart phone or ipad/laptop for same).
- Participate in training, team meetings and inservices as required.

Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses will be required to perform duties within their scope of practice (if allocated for nursing shifts)- including but not limited to

- Medication administration
- Access to extra training is available, if required.
