The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Capital Projects team and play a key role in the delivery of a varied portfolio of projects across the Melbourne Park precinct.
Working within a professional project delivery environment, you will be responsible for managing multiple capital works projects simultaneously, ranging from civil infrastructure upgrades and public realm improvements through to building refurbishments, venue enhancements and new built-form developments.
You will take ownership of projects from inception through to completion, coordinating consultants, contractors and key stakeholders while ensuring projects are delivered safely on time and within budget. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery including design development, procurement, contract administration, construction management, risk mitigation and project close-out.
A critical aspect of the role will be balancing project delivery within a live operational environment, ensuring works are effectively planned around major sporting events, concerts and day-to-day precinct operations.
Supported by a Project Coordinator, you will also provide regular reporting to governance groups and senior leadership, ensuring transparency, accountability and successful project outcomes across the capital works portfolio.
The successful candidate will be employed on a two-year, full-time fixed-term contract.
What You’ll Bring To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
- Proven experience delivering multiple capital works projects concurrently from planning through to completion.
- Experience managing projects across civil infrastructure, building construction, refurbishment and/or public realm environments.
- Strong design management capability, including coordinating consultants and resolving technical and operational challenges.
- Sound understanding of procurement strategies, contract administration and project governance frameworks.
- Strong contractor management skills with a focus on safety, quality, programme and commercial performance.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement skills,
with the ability to build productive relationships across diverse internal and external groups.
- Well-developed financial management capability, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control and claims administration.
- The ability to successfully deliver projects within complex, live operational environments where business continuity is critical.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise competing project demands across a varied portfolio.
