Senior Solution Engineer - FTTx | Fibre Access Networks | Telco

FinXL IT Professional Services is an established innovative Australian company providing technology enabled business solutions and consulting services across a number of industries including Telecommunications, Commercial, Government and Finance.

We are seeking a Senior Solution Engineer - FTTx to join a leading telecommunications organisation and play a key role in shaping and evolving large-scale fibre access networks. This role will focus on bringing complex FTTx network solutions to life through detailed design, engineering governance, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement. You will work across engineering, architecture, operations, vendors, and delivery partners to deliver scalable, secure and reliable FTTx solutions supporting a nationwide telecommunications network.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide technical leadership across FTTx solution design, testing and production deployment
- Develop and review detailed engineering designs aligned with architecture standards
- Support GPON/XGS-PON access network solutions including OLT, ONT and associated platforms




- Resolve complex network engineering challenges across lifecycle, capacity and performance
- Work closely with vendors and delivery partners to ensure quality outcomes
- Support automation, operational improvements and network evolution
- Lead technical discussions across engineering, architecture and delivery teams
- Manage technical risks, issues and dependencies across delivery initiatives

Knowledge & Skills Required:

- FTTx Access Networks (GPON/XGS-PON, OLT, ONT)
- Solution Engineering and network solution delivery within a carrier environment
- HLD/LLD development and technical documentation
- Network design, integration, testing and deployment
- Vendor engagement and technical governance
- Network troubleshooting, optimisation and lifecycle management

Highly desirable:

- Experience within a large telecommunications provider or network vendor environment
- Experience with fibre access platforms, EMS applications and OSS integration
- Solid understanding of operational readiness, network performance and capacity management
