We are partnering with an established Queensland civil contractor seeking an experienced Project Manager to join its Cairns-based operation. This is a permanent position delivering road and civil infrastructure projects across Cairns and Far North Queensland.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience managing projects for the Queensland Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR) .
The Prospect
You will take responsibility for the planning and delivery of civil infrastructure projects, managing the project team and coordinating plant, labour, materials, subcontractors and other resources.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Managing civil projects from mobilisation through to completion
- Leading Project Engineers, Site Engineers, Supervisors and site personnel
- Managing project budgets, forecasts, programs and commercial performance
- Maintaining strong relationships with TMR representatives, subcontractors and other stakeholders
- Coordinating labour, plant, materials and subcontractor resources
- Managing project reporting, documentation and contractual requirements
- Ensuring compliance with TMR specifications and project requirements
- Overseeing safety, quality, environmental and community obligations
- Identifying project risks and implementing practical solutions
- Ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget
What You Will Need To Be Considered, You Must Have
- Previous Project Management experience with a civil contractor
- Demonstrated experience delivering Queensland TMR projects
- Strong knowledge of TMR specifications, systems and reporting requirements
- Experience across road construction, earthworks, drainage, pavements, structures or associated civil infrastructure
- A strong understanding of project budgets, cost control, forecasting and programming
- Experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and multidisciplinary project teams
- Strong leadership and stakeholder-management skills
- A commitment to safety, quality and environmental compliance
- The ability to relocate permanently to Cairns
A Civil Engineering degree or similar qualification will be highly regarded, although substantial project delivery experience will also be considered. Why Consider Cairns?
