Servicing the communities of Cape York, with the main office is located in Cairns, Apunipima delivers public health care, and social and emotional well-being care, to community members. About the Opportunity The Psychosocial Navigator plays a vital role in supporting individuals living with severe mental illness to access services, strengthen their independence, build meaningful social connections, and improve their overall wellbeing through a recovery-focused and culturally responsive approach. This is a Fixed Term contract ending on the 30th of June 2027.

This position is FIFO from Cairns to the Indigenous community of Aurukun on a weekly basis.

Skills And Experiences

About You To be successful in this role you will have:

- A tertiary qualification relevant to the position such as Psychology, Social Work, Mental Health or Counselling
- Eligible or hold membership of his/her professional association
- Current Queensland Drives Licence




- Blue Card (Working with Children Card)
- Have a minimum of three years post-qualification experience
- Demonstrated experience working with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Isander people with a mental health illness
- Demonstrated ability to provide direct and comprehensive case management in a variety of settings including home, clinic and community
- Demonstrated knowledge of building capacity and skills to assist people in managing their mental illness, improve their relationships with family and others
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of collaborative, holistic, and culturally appropriate practice with Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander individual
