We're partnering with a global AI infrastructure organisation that is rapidly expanding its hyperscale GPU compute and data centre footprint across Australia, North America and Europe. This is a rare opportunity to lead the global network engineering function for one of the fastest-growing AI infrastructure environments in the world. Reporting directly to the CTO, you'll define and execute the long-term network strategy that underpins large-scale AI training and inference platforms, owning everything from architecture and procurement through to operations, automation and executive stakeholder engagement. If you've built and scaled high-performance networks in hyperscale cloud, AI, HPC or large-scale data centre environments, this is an opportunity to shape infrastructure at global scale.

The Prospect

As Vice President of Network Engineering, you'll own the global network strategy across multiple international regions, ensuring network infrastructure remains scalable, resilient and ready to support rapid GPU cluster expansion. You'll lead a multidisciplinary engineering organisation responsible for architecture, operations and automation while driving technology strategy, vendor partnerships, procurement and long-term capacity planning. This is a highly strategic role that combines executive leadership with deep technical ownership.

Key Responsibilities

- Define the global network strategy across WAN, backbone, compute fabric, edge networking and data centre interconnects.
- Lead the architecture of large-scale AI and HPC networking environments including InfiniBand, Ethernet fabrics, spine-leaf architectures and high-performance switching.
- Own international network capacity planning across multiple regions, ensuring infrastructure scales ahead of business demand.
- Lead procurement strategy including vendor selection, commercial negotiations, RFP/RFQ processes and CapEx planning.
- Develop strategic relationships with network vendors, optical carriers and colocation providers.

- Drive automation, reliability and SRE practices across the global network environment.
- Build and lead a world-class network engineering organisation spanning architecture, engineering, operations and automation.
- Represent network engineering at Executive and Board level, translating complex technical strategy into commercial outcomes.
- Ensure network platforms meet global security, compliance and regulatory requirements.

About You

You'll be an experienced technology executive who has successfully led network engineering organisations operating at significant scale. You'll bring:

- 15+ years of network engineering experience with at least 5 years leading global or enterprise-scale engineering teams.
- InfiniBand
- High-performance Ethernet
- Optical transport
- WAN & backbone networking
- Spine-leaf architectures
- Software-defined networking
- Experience leading network procurement, vendor negotiations and infrastructure investment planning.
- Strong background building highly available, automated and operationally mature network platforms.
- Experience managing geographically distributed engineering teams.
- Excellent executive communication skills with the ability to engage C-level stakeholders and Boards.
- Experience operating across multiple international regions.

Highly Regarded

- Experience within hyperscale cloud, AI infrastructure or large-scale colocation providers.
- NVIDIA networking technologies including InfiniBand, Spectrum Ethernet or NVLink.
- Open networking and white-box hardware strategies.
- AI-driven network operations and automation.
- Experience supporting rapid international infrastructure growth.

What's on Offer

- Executive leadership role reporting directly to the CTO.
- Opportunity to define the global networking strategy for cutting-edge AI infrastructure.
- Work on some of the world's largest GPU compute environments.
- Significant influence over technology, architecture and investment decisions.
- Highly competitive executive remuneration package including equity.
