Are you an organised and detail-oriented Purchasing professional looking for your next opportunity? We are seeking a motivated Purchasing Officer to join our team based in Wetherill Park. Reporting directly to the Purchasing Manager, this role will play a key part in supporting purchasing operations, supplier engagement, and procurement compliance across the business.
This is an excellent prospect for someone with purchasing or procurement experience who is looking to further develop their skills within a structured and evolving procurement environment. About the role
As the Purchasing Officer, you will support the execution of purchasing activities in line with company procurement strategies, policies and preferred supplier agreements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, suppliers, Accounts Payable and the wider Purchasing team to ensure purchasing processes are efficient, compliant and value-driven.
Key responsibilities
- Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, processes and delegated authority levels
- Review and validate purchase order requests
- Create non-stock purchase orders within agreed service timeframes
- Manage and action GRIR reports, parked invoice reports on a daily and weekly basis
- Liaise with Accounts Payable and suppliers regarding purchase orders, invoices and claims
- Investigate and resolve vendor queries, issues and disputes
- Support the timely resolution of purchasing and invoice-related discrepancies
- Ensure preferred supplier agreements are utilised wherever possible
- Provide support to internal stakeholders on purchasing-related enquiries To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a purchasing, procurement or supply chain support role
- Experience across SAP or similar ERP systems
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills
- The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement
