CGF Group located in Port Lincoln, SA 5606 is a professional painting company providing high-quality painting services. The role requires attention to detail, technical expertise, and the ability to work efficiently while maintaining a protected and organised work environment. To support our growing operations, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Painter to join the team.

The Role

This is a full-time role with an annual salary set at $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on experience.

Responsibilities

- Read work orders, blueprints, specifications, and instructions to determine painting requirements, materials, and the scope of work.
- Inspect and assess interior and exterior surfaces to identify preparation requirements and determine the type and quantity of materials needed.
- Prepare surfaces for painting by scraping, sanding, patching holes, and removing old paint or wallpaper.
- Prepare work areas by erecting scaffolding, setting up ladders, and protecting fixtures, furnishings, floors, windows, and other surfaces with drop sheets and coverings.
- Fill cracks, nail holes, joints, and other surface imperfections using appropriate materials including putty, plaster, and caulking compounds.
- Select, mix, and prepare paints, stains, varnishes, enamels, lacquers, and related materials to achieve specified colors and finishes.
- Apply coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel,



or lacquer to decorate as well as protect interior or exterior surfaces,
- Thinning drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colours
- Install and apply wallpaper, fabrics, and other wall coverings as required.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with project specifications.

· Estimate material requirements, labour costs, and project expenses, and assist with preparing quotations and negotiating prices with clients where required.

Requirements

· AQF Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or a related trade field, OR higher

· At least 3 years of experience in painting role in the painting and decorating industry in a professional and commercial setting

· Construction Induction Card

· National Police Clearance

· Knowledge of colour matching, paint mixing, and decorative finishing techniques.

· Proficiency in applying paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray-painting equipment.

· Experience working safely at heights using ladders, scaffolding, and other access equipment.

· Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, bending, and standing for extended periods.

· Additional tickets, EWP and relevant licenses will be looked upon favourably

Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
