SEMKEL Electrics is a Melbourne-based electrical contractor delivering high-quality electrical, BMS, controls and associated services across major commercial and mission-critical projects.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing electrical works across major data centre projects located throughout Melbourne.

About the Role

Working closely with our directors, site supervisors, clients and subcontractors, you will oversee projects from planning and mobilisation through to commissioning and final handover.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Managing electrical packages on large-scale data centre projects
- Coordinating labour, subcontractors, suppliers and project resources
- Developing and maintaining project programs and construction schedules
- Monitoring project costs, variations, procurement and financial performance
- Reviewing drawings, specifications, scopes of work and technical documentation
- Managing RFIs, variations, progress claims and client reporting
- Attending project, design and coordination meetings
- Ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to the required quality standards
- Coordinating testing, commissioning, defects and project handover




- Building strong working relationships with clients, builders and project stakeholders

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

- Previous experience managing commercial or industrial electrical projects
- Experience on data centre or other mission-critical projects highly regarded
- A strong understanding of electrical construction, installation and commissioning
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
- Robust commercial awareness and experience managing project costs and variations
- Experience reading electrical drawings, specifications and construction programs
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and common project management software
- A Victorian electrical licence or electrical trade background is highly regarded
- A current Australian driver’s licence
