We're seeking a motivated and hands-on Groundsperson & Maintenance Assistant to join our team and help maintain the high standards our guests love and expect. About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, with day-to-day direction and support from the Grounds Supervisor, this is a diverse and rewarding role responsible for maintaining our extensive gardens, lawns, outdoor spaces, and resort facilities.

This position is full-time, based on a 38-hour week, and will include some rostered weekend work, typically involving either a Saturday or Sunday shift as part of a rotating team roster.

Key Responsibilities

Grounds & Landscaping

- Mowing and edging lawns and grassed areas

- Maintaining gardens, landscaped spaces and natural riverfront areas

- Pruning, mulching, planting and general horticultural activities

- Weed, pest and vegetation management

- Monitoring and maintaining irrigation systems

- Maintaining pathways, outdoor furniture and public areas

- Ensuring the resort grounds & facilities are presented to a premium standard at all times

Maintenance & Handyman Duties

- Assisting with repairs and maintenance across the resort

- May include basic carpentry, minor plumbing, and painting / touch-up work

- Assisting with preventative maintenance programs

- Reporting maintenance issues and safety concerns





- Supporting the maintenance team with projects and improvements

Resort Operations

- Operating ride-on mowers, tractors and utility vehicles

- Assisting with set-up and pack-down of resort events and activities

- Maintaining tools, equipment and work areas

- Working safely and following all Workplace Health & Safety requirements

- Providing friendly assistance to guests when required

About You

You are someone who takes genuine pride in creating and maintaining beautiful spaces. You notice the little things, enjoy working outdoors, and understand that every task contributes to the overall guest experience.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in landscaping, horticulture, groundskeeping and/or handyman work

- Experience operating ride-on equipment and machinery

- Working knowledge of irrigation systems and garden maintenance

- Strong practical problem-solving skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Essential Requirements

- Current Driver's Licence

- White Card

- Ability to perform physically active outdoor work

Advantageous

- Chainsaw certification

- Trade qualifications

- Experience in hospitality, tourism, resorts or holiday parks

- Chemical handling accreditation
