Warringu is an Aboriginal Community Controlled, not‑for‑profit organisation governed by a community Board of Directors. We provide specialist services supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women and children impacted by domestic, family and sexual violence and homelessness across Cairns and surrounding regions, including Yarrabah, the Atherton Tablelands, Cape York and the Torres Strait.

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Domestic & Family Violence (DFV) Case Manager to join our frontline team. Part‑time arrangements considered for the right applicant!

About the Role

The DFV Case Manager provides specialistcase management support to individuals and families experiencing domestic, family, and/or sexual violence. The roleis responsible fordelivering trauma, riskresponsive case coordination, including intake, assessment, safety planning, and ongoing case management to support safety, stabilisation, and recoveryoutcomes.

Key Responsibilities

- Deliver comprehensive DFV case management services including intake, risk assessment, safety planning, case planning, and ongoing support in line with organisational frameworks.
- Exercise professional judgement in managing a DFV caseload, ensuringtimely,appropriate, and risk-responsive interventions.
- Develop, implement, and review client-centred case plans aligned with identified risks, needs, and goals.
- Coordinate andmonitorcase plan actions, ensuring continuity of care and effective client engagement.
- Provide crisis intervention and responsive client support asrequired, including participation in phone (gate duty) on a rotational basis.
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver coordinated, integrated service responses.
- Participate in case conferences, care team meetings,



and interagency coordination activities to support client outcomes.
- Build andmaintaineffective relationships with external stakeholders and advocate for clients to accessappropriate servicesand supports.
- Apply trauma-informed, strengths-based, and culturally safe practices in all aspects of service delivery.
- Maintainaccurate,timely, and confidential case records, reports, and datain accordance withorganisational and funding requirements.
- Participate in supervision, training, and continuous professional development to support reflective practice and service quality.
- Support practice development through contribution to continuous improvement initiatives and, whereappropriate, coaching or mentoring of staff in collaboration with the Senior DFV Practitioner.
- Contribute to community education, stakeholder engagement, and the maintenance of a safe, clean, and welcoming Residential Healing Place workplace.

About You (Selection Criteria)

- Demonstrated experience in case management for women and children escaping violence, with effective collaboration skills in multidisciplinary teams
- Stronginterpersonaland communicationskills withtheability to work cooperatively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated understanding of the impacts of trauma, family and/or sexual violence, and the ability to apply trauma-informed and client-centred approaches in practice.
- Knowledgeof legislationimpactingon situations offamily and/or sexualviolence includingrelevant notifications and referral pathways.




- Proven experience in working respectfully and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities, and an ability to embed culturally safe and responsive practices in service delivery.
- Proficiencyin Microsoft Office and other relevant computer applications.

- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Social Sciences, Community Services, or a related field (e.g.Social Work, Diploma of Community Services – Child and Adolescent, or equivalent)
- Minimum3+yearsdemonstrated experience in DFV, homelessness, or complex case management settings
- Current Queensland Driver’s Licence.
- Current Blue Card or ability to obtain one prior to employment commencing
- Successful National Police Check (dated within the last three months).
