Job Description

Down Under Centre Australia Pty Ltd Verdecon is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join our construction team. The successful applicant will perform skilled carpentry work across residential and commercial construction projects, ensuring all work is completed accurately, safely and in accordance with project plans, specifications and applicable building standards. Task & responsibilities

- Read and interpret plans, drawings and specifications to determine materials, dimensions and construction requirements.
- Measure, mark, cut, shape and assemble timber and other construction materials.
- Construct, install and repair wall frames, roof framing, floor systems, doors, windows and other structural components.
- Erect frameworks, lay subflooring and install fascia boards, external cladding and internal fixtures.
- Install doors, door frames, windows, cabinetry, mouldings and other finishing components.
- Inspect and repair existing structures,



including removing and replacing damaged or defective materials.
- Use hand tools, power tools and construction equipment safely and effectively.
- Check completed work for accuracy, alignment, level, fit and compliance with specifications.
- Coordinate with supervisors, builders, subcontractors and other trades to meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Maintain a safe and organised worksite and comply with workplace health and safety requirements.

Qualification & experience The successful applicant will have:

- a relevant Certificate III qualification in Carpentry or an equivalent trade qualification;
- at least 3 years of relevant carpentry experience;
- demonstrated experience in structural and finishing carpentry;
- the ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specifications;
- sound knowledge of construction methods, materials and relevant building requirements;
- competence in using carpentry tools and equipment;
- strong attention to detail and workmanship;
- the ability to work independently and as part of a construction team;
- a current White Card; and
- a current driver’s licence.
