About the Team

The role sits within the Research Translation and Impact unit in the Research Office and supports research translation and impact across the university through coordinated pathways, advisory support and specialist management.

Job Purpose

This role leads a team of research translation and intellectual property professionals that support researchers to progress translation across commercial, policy and practice domains. It ensures consistent, practical approaches and alignment of services across the research translation function.

Role Responsibilities

- Lead and coordinate the day to day activities of the research translation team and support consistent and proactive service delivery.
- Provide advice and guidance to researchers on intellectual property, pathways for end-user focused translation including commercialisation and non-commercial translation pathways and refer to specialist staff as needed.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support translation outcomes and partnering opportunities.
- Monitor and review translation activities and contribute to ongoing improvement of approaches.
- Maintain knowledge of research translation, intellectual property and commercialisation practices and trends.
- Deliver training and capability building to uplift researcher understanding, skills and capability in relation to intellectual property and research translation.

- Expertise in research translation, knowledge exchange and intellectual property in a research environment.
- Ability to provide advice and guidance to researchers across disciplines and career stages.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship management skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and integrate multiple perspectives.
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence outcomes.
- Strategic and analytical thinking with ability to apply policies and frameworks.
- Knowledge of research translation pathways, policies and the higher education environment.

Experience

- Experience in research translation, intellectual property or related advisory roles.
- Experience engaging stakeholders and building partnerships across teams.
- Experience supporting collaboration and coordination across multiple areas.
- Experience delivering training or capability development is desirable.

Qualifications

- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of experience and education. Qualifications in intellectual property law are desirable.

What We Offer

Base Salary Range:$143,080 - $149,894 (HEW9)plus 17% superannuation (pension)

The position is full time and will be made on a continuing basis.
