ABOUT THE ROLE:

With the recent local and world market shift towards zero emission vehicles and benefitting from Volgren’s strong focus on the design and development of innovative new bus solutions,



we are looking to increase our workforce at this exciting time with talented individuals contributing to the overall success of our company.

We are looking for Skilled Auto Electricians/Trade Assistants with cable running experience to join our Production team at our Eagle Farm facility. In this hands-on position, you will have a solid drive and motivation to succeed and be able to work in a safety conscious environment.

This position enjoys a fortnightly RDO. Pay rate is market competitive and depends on experience and qualifications. This will be a permanent full-timeopportunity and paid as per our Enterprise Agreement.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES THAT MAY INCLUDE:

- Diagnose and repair electrical faults and computer-controlled systems used in automotive technology.
- Determine if a repair, upgrade, or new installation is required and carry out the process accordingly.
- Calibrate and test any electrical components and wiring following installation, repair, or upgrade.
- Service or replace defective electrical parts and wiring.
- Install/upgrade accessories.
- Test headlight strength and alignment.
- Safely use hand and electrical tools.
- Follow all relevant safety guidelines and procedures.
- Dismantling and removing electrical and electronic assemblies and components.
- Connecting power-operated vehicle equipment and accessories to power supply.
- Replacing defective parts such as fuses, lamps and switches.
- Fault finding using multimeter and schematics.
- Working with multiplex systems and programs.
- Installing and maintaining pneumatic/electrical systems.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OR EXPERIENCE:

- Possess nationally recognised trade qualification in automotive technician/auto electrician.
- HR (Auto)



license is desired but not essential.
- Extensive on the job experience as an auto electrician, ideally in a heavy vehicle environment
- Previous experience in commercial vehicles, bus and coaches highly regarded.
- Skilled Trade Assistant with cable handling and running experience.

WORK/TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE

- Auto electrical and mechanical knowledge
- Knowledge of diagnostics tools for vehicle electrical and electronics
- Ability to read electrical and electronic schematics and circuit diagrams.
- Organizational skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Problem-solving skills
- Manufacturing or related industry experience is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills, time management skills with ability to meet deadlines and manage conflicting priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaborate with teams.
- Strong attention to detail, motivated, punctual, and prompt to act on support request
- This position also requires the applicant to undertake a pre-employment medical which includes a drug and alcohol analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation and hearing test
