ACE Materials Handling Pty Ltd is an Australian owned engineering and materials handling company which has been operating since 1991, with branches in Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane, Cairns, Gladstone and Townsville. We provide services to clients in all industries through inspection, service, maintenance and repair of their materials handling equipment and other assets.

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Graduate Engineer or Engineer with some practical experience and confidence to work autonomously to join our Qualified Services team in a hands-on, full-time role. This position is ideally suited to a recent engineering graduate or engineer with limited experience in a practical role who is eager to apply their technical skills in a industrial, client-facing environment, with the opportunity to work closely alongside experienced engineers while building valuable industry knowledge and experience.This role provides the variety of engineering duties alongside the responsibility of supporting key client account management activity.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing and modifying engineering drawings, supporting project documentation and administration, and managing day-to-day communication with a dedicated portfolio of client accounts. Working from physical parts, existing documentation and project requirements, you will take ownership of drafting and drawing tasks while representing the division professionally in client interactions and response to client needs, backed by the support of an experienced technical team.

To be successful in this role, the following skills, experience, and attributes are essential;

- Recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks preferred) with the ability to produce drawings from scratch and modify existing drawings.




- Ability to read, interpret and work with engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Strong organisational and time management skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to engage professionally with clients.
- Willingness to learn document control, quality assurance and industry-specific processes.
- Self-motivated and proactive - comfortable taking ownership of tasks with appropriate guidance.
- Methodical and process-driven with a strong eye for accuracy.
- Confident communicator who can represent the division professionally with clients.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small, collaborative technical team.
- Comfortable moving between hands-on technical tasks and administrative or client-facing responsibilities.
- Genuine interest in the engineering industry, client services and a commitment to continuous learning and development.

It would be highly desirable if the successful candidate already has experience in the following, however it is not a requirement for the role.

- Exposure to or interest in materials handling equipment, overhead cranes, lifting equipment, manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies or project coordination.
- Experience reverse-engineering components from physical parts or as-built conditions.
- Experience liaising with clients or looking after client requirements in a timely manner.
