Regulatory Analyst - Bring Your Skills to the Table
Grade: Clerk Grade 7/8 ($116,981 - $129,492 p.a. base salary + Superannuation)
Duration: 1 x Ongoing, 1 x temporary role
Location: Sydney (111 Elizabeth Street) with hybrid/flexible work options with an expectation of 2-3 office attendance per week

This is your chance to step into a dynamic role where you’ll play an important part in delivering regulatory programs that support the work of the Professional Standards Authority within the NSW Department of Customer Service. Your contribution won’t just tick boxes – it will help shape outcomes that matter.
The Skilled Standards Authority is the NSW-based regulatory support agency for the multi-jurisdictional Professional Standards Councils. Together, the Councils lead the national system of skilled standards regulation, and we collaborate with professional bodies and occupational associations to lift standards and safeguard consumers across Australia. As part of our regulatory team, you’ll play an active role in achieving key objectives, including to:
- Ensure statutory decision-making by the Councils is supported by quality analysis and advice
- Deliver clear and practical encouragement and assistance to legal, accounting, building sector and other associations to regulate skilled and ethical standards for their members
- Monitor the ongoing performance and compliance of associations administering professional standards schemes
- Promote the benefits of skilled standards schemes to associations, insurers, regulators and other stakeholders.

To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience in regulatory compliance/risk management (or similar experience)
- Ability to research, think critically and solve problems by analysing information and developing practical solutions
- Proven ability to write clearly, persuasively and concisely
- Experience in establishing effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to drive initiatives to improve service delivery, manage competing priorities and respond to deadlines
- An understanding of the role of regulation in protecting consumers and an interest in working with professions and their associations.
