FrontLine Australia
Sutherland Shire Council
FrontLine is a Veteran-operated Government, Commercial & Strata integrated services provider, delivering qualified services for Commercial Facilities, Residential & Commercial Strata and Government Programs and Awarded service delivery works (CHSP, NDIS, DVA, Comcare, Defence Estates). FrontLine is becoming Australia’s largest and most experienced Support & Wellbeing, Mowing & Gardening, Cleaning & Hygiene and Trades & Maintenance integrated services provider.
We’re building teams of passionate, dedicated staff across the country with engaged leadership, systems and processes, all working to deliver great service to our clients across Australia’s major cities. FrontLine supports employment and training pathways for Veterans and ex-Emergency Services personnel into Team Leader / Section Leader roles across Horticulture & Landscaping, Cleaning & Hygiene, Mowing & Gardening, Safety & Security, and Support & Wellbeing, and into Advisory roles in Strategy, Planning, Operations, Safety, Security Risk, Compliance & Quality Assurance.
About the role
FrontLine operates with a "can do" mindset and a genuine passion for the outcomes we deliver for our customers, their properties and their facilities. We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day operations across multiple client contracts and service categories. Reporting to the General Manager Operations and directly leading two Group Coordinators, you'll own safe, efficient and profitable service delivery while building the systems, discipline and capability that let the business scale — partnering closely with our Service Delivery leaders to get there.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end operational performance across multiple Service Delivery teams and categories — workforce planning, scheduling, field execution, quality,
cost and safety.
- Lead, coach and develop two Group Coordinators; set clear expectations, rhythms and service standards.
- Partner with Finance to monitor cost and margin drivers, reduce avoidable spend, and improve gross margin through smarter procurement, fleet and consumables strategies.
- Maintain and drive correct use of operational systems and large data registers; own data accuracy and visible performance reporting for leadership.
- Monitor and report to close out service completion confirmations, ensure accurate and timely invoicing, and ensure future services are properly scheduled.
- Coordinate ordering of consumables, equipment and supplies so Sections and Teams have what they need, cost-effectively.
- Support the upkeep of the vehicle fleet and warehouse to keep operations productive and compliant.
- Lead a safety-first culture — incident investigation and close-out, and WHS compliance — and represent operations in internal and external audits.
- maintain business ISO responsibilities with internal/external audits and maintain compliance for ISO 14001; 9001; 45001
- Lead quality and service excellence across the business — driving QSE compliance, service standards and audit readiness, with fast, thorough resolution when issues arise.
- Draft, maintain and enact SOPs, SWMS and policy for Service Delivery & Operational functions across the business.
- Support the design and rollout of training packages and systems for Service Delivery roles.
- Set the standard for operational compliance and systems discipline that other leaders and coordinators follow.
What we’re looking for from you
- Proven experience in a multi-site operations, scheduling or forecasting leadership role, ideally in property/facility services, strata, trades or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience owning cost, margin or budget outcomes — comfortable with P&L-style; accountability, not just task completion.
- Experience leading or coaching a small team (e.g. coordinators or schedulers), with a genuine growth mindset and positive attitude.
- Strong ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively in a team environment, proactively sharing information across Sections and Teams.
- Great written and verbal communication skills with internal staff and teams, and external clients and customers.
- A solid sense of responsibility, initiative and a proven commitment to workplace safety.
- Trades / services, commercial, strata or government program client account experience is desirable.
- Proficiency in scheduling and operations software — in particular utilisation of Smartsheets.
- Understanding, empathy and a genuine care factor for the people you work with.
- Solid attention to detail and organisational skills, with the ability to work unsupervised or as part of a team and share knowledge with others.
What we offer
- Immediate start
- Ongoing, full time role
- A simple, well-supported induction process
- A competitive salary package for an experienced multi-site Operations Manager, negotiated with the right candidate
- Training and development opportunities
- A friendly, supportive team
