We are a market-leading banking organization with an international presence. The Cross-Border Banking & Financial Institutions Department (CFD) supports cross-border banking, trade finance, financial institution partnerships and banking services for Chinese-background corporates in Australia. Working closely with local and offshore stakeholders, the Department provides a broad range of banking solutions and plays an important role in the Branch’s business growth.
Summary The role will be responsible for supporting the Department’s customer relationship management, customer onboarding and due diligence processes, business coordination, transaction execution and portfolio administration. The position offers broad exposure to financial institutions, trade finance, cross-border banking and Chinese corporate banking activities, and contributes to both day-to-day business support and selected business development activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
1. Business Development & Relationship Management
· Support the management of cross-border banking, corporate customer and financial institution relationships. · Maintain regular communication with assigned customers on customer due diligence, business activities, documentation requirements and service enquiries.
· Participate in customer meetings, visits, marketing activities and business development initiatives.
· Assist identifying customer needs and supporting business origination opportunities.
· Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure efficient customer service delivery.
· Participate in domestic and overseas business trips where required.
1. Risk, Operational & Compliance Management
· Manage customer onboarding, KYC/CDD reviews,
periodic reviews and customer information maintenance for financial institution and non-financial institution customers. · Collect, verify and maintain customer due diligence documentation and supporting materials.
· Coordinate AML/CTF, sanctions screening and other compliance-related reviews.
· Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and workflow procedures.
· Assist in portfolio monitoring and risk management activities.
1. Transaction & Operational Support
· Support the processing of trade finance transactions, including letters of credit, guarantee, forfaiting and other related products. · Assist in bilateral financing, syndicated financing, risk participation and other banking transactions.
· Prepare business proposals, transaction materials, approval documents and supporting documentation.
· Monitor transaction progress, and assist with post-transaction management and reporting.
Qualifications and Experience
· Experience in banking, preferably in trade finance, corporate banking, transaction banking, financial institutions or related areas.
· Ability to build and maintain customer relationship, and skill to develop business through active participating in client servicing, transaction execution and day-to-day business support activities
· Practical knowledge of KYC/CDD, AML/CTF and regulatory compliance requirements,
· Strong communication, coordination and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset.
· Highly organised with solid attention to detail and accuracy.
· Demonstrated sense of responsibility, willingness to learn and ability to work under deadlines.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment, and manage multiple tasks effectively.
· Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin preferred.
