Manage research governance activities that enable safe, ethical and compliant human research across WSLHD, supporting researchers, clinicians and partners to deliver better health outcomes.

- Be part of a collaborative team supporting a diverse portfolio of human research projects and clinical trials
- Work with leading researchers, universities, commercial sponsors and healthcare professionals
- Contribute to a culture that values integrity, transparency and excellence in research practice
- Support governance frameworks that ensure research is conducted safely, ethically and in line with regulatory requirements
- Build strong skilled relationships across a major metropolitan health service

What you'll be doing

As the Research Governance Officer, you will provide expert governance oversight and risk management support for research conducted across WSLHD.



You will play a key role in ensuring research activities meet ethical, regulatory and legislative standards while enabling researchers to deliver impactful outcomes.

- Review and manage Site-Specific Applications (SSA/STE) and provide advice on research approvals, agreements and governance requirements
- Partner with researchers, sponsors, universities and collaborative groups to support governance processes, contracts, budgets and indemnification requirements
- Maintain knowledge of NHMRC guidelines, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), TGA regulations and NSW Health research governance requirements
- Support clinical trial monitoring, policy development, training and education to promote best practice research conduct
- Prepare reports and provide governance advice to committees, leadership teams and regulatory bodies

- Appropriate tertiary clinical qualifications in a relevant discipline or extensive experience in a clinical and research environment.
- Proven sound knowledge of regulations and guidelines governing the ethical and safe conduct of research.
- Demonstrated skill in the analysis of complex issues, problem solving,



formulating new approaches and implementing comprehensive change programs and programs and improvement strategies, including the ability to develop and monitor outcomes.
- Effective interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to develop and maintain relationships with clients.
- Excellent negotiation and organisational skills, including the ability to manage competing priorities and a high volume workload.
- Demonstrated ability to work to deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse team of professionals and people at all levels.
- Proven experience with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook. database applications and REGIS (Research Ethics & Governance Information System).
