About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Officer (Workforce Insights) to support the delivery of workforce planning and insights projects across government and public safety sectors.

This role is ideal for an analytical and curious professional who enjoys combining data, research, stakeholder engagement, and project coordination to deliver meaningful outcomes. You will work closely with senior leaders and industry stakeholders to identify workforce trends, analyse labour market data, facilitate consultations, and contribute to the development of high-quality workforce insights reports.

Responsibilities:

- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to identify workforce trends, challenges, and opportunities.
- Analyse workforce, labour market, and industry data from multiple sources to develop meaningful insights.
- Prepare evidence-based reports, briefing papers, research summaries, and workforce intelligence documents.
- Support the planning and delivery of workforce insights projects and strategic initiatives.
- Facilitate workshops, consultations, and stakeholder engagement activities across multiple jurisdictions.
- Engage with government departments, industry representatives, unions, advisory groups, and other key stakeholders.
- Gather, document, and validate stakeholder feedback and industry insights.
- Contribute to project governance, reporting,



risk management, and project coordination activities.
- Translate research findings into practical workforce planning recommendations and strategies.

Experience/About You:

- Previous experience in Research, Policy, Workforce Planning, Project Coordination, Workforce Analytics, or a related field.
- Strong capability in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies.
- Experience analysing data and turning findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Excellent written communication and report-writing skills.
- Demonstrated stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience.
- Comfortable facilitating workshops, meetings, consultations, or presentations.
- Solid organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- High attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills.
- Degree qualified in Business, Economics, Public Policy, Social Sciences, Project Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience working within government, public sector, education, workforce strategy, or consulting environments will be highly regarded.
