Emerald Carrying Company (ECC) is seeking a reliable, safety-focused and professional MC Fuel Tanker Driver to join our growing Townsville Depot.
This is a local position offering a permanent day roster. Start and finish every shift at our Townsville Depot, with no overnight or interstate travel required.
The Role
Working across Townsville and the surrounding region, your responsibilities will include:
- Completing local retail fuel deliveries safely and efficiently
- Coupling and preparing road train combinations for loading
- Conducting vehicle inspections and reporting faults or safety concerns
- Complying with fatigue management requirements, Chain of Responsibility obligations and applicable road transport legislation
- Accurately completing delivery paperwork, electronic records and driver work diaries
- Maintaining professional communication with customers, depot personnel and operational teams
Roster
- Permanent day-shift roster
- Four rostered shifts followed by four days off
- 2:30am start each rostered shift
- Shifts of up to 14 hours, subject to operational and fatigue-management requirements
- Local work?start and finish each shift at the Townsville Depot

About You To succeed in this position, you will have:
- A current MC driver?s licence
- Demonstrated Road Ranger experience
- A current Dangerous Goods licence, or willingness to obtain one
- A strong commitment to safe driving and regulatory compliance
- A reliable work ethic and professional approach
- Strong communication and record-keeping skills
Previous bulk fuel or tanker experience will be highly regarded but is not essential. Protected Load Program and Basic Fatigue Management accreditation are also desirable; assistance may be available for successful applicants to obtain these requirements. Pre-Employment Requirements The successful applicant must be willing to complete:
- A National Criminal History Check
- A Traffic History Check
- A pre-employment medical assessment
- Drug and alcohol testing
- A practical driving assessment
