You will play a key role in supporting the business manage risk, providing input into theimplementation offrameworks, policies, supporting standards,processesand procedures by collaborating and partnering with stakeholders, advancing understanding of our risk,obligationand control environment.

You willmonitorthe effectiveness of controls, compliance with obligations and risk appetite, as well asproviderisk insights byidentifyingnew / emerging risks and regulatory change, to support the consistent delivery of meaningful value to our customers. Where risk events or compliance breaches occur, you willfacilitateroot cause analysis,identifythemes and work with the business to developappropriate response.

You will support the consistent implementation of change by ensuring that Great Southern Bank’s frameworks, policies, supporting standards, processes and procedures are applied, with a focus on embedding divisional senior leader accountability for risk management.

You’llmake an impact by:

You provide advice and guidance to the Chief Customer Office division, on the implementation of the Risk Management Framework.

You manage the first line risk response, supporting maintenance of current and fit for purpose risk profiles

You partner with teams across the division to strengthen the documentation and assessment of key controls.

You willmonitorand support the delivery and maintenance of compliance plans.

You promote a positive Risk Culture throughout your sphere of influence, through education and modellingappropriate behaviours.

You assess incidents,



including incident / breach investigation (root cause analysis), and make recommendations on mitigating actions and control improvement design.

Do things differently with us

To succeed in this role, you will have:

Minimum 5 years in financial services with a strong understanding of operational risk and compliance in the financial services industry

Demonstrated experience in a similar risk and/or compliance role, preferably in the 1LOD and in Banking and Financial Services Industry

Experience in formulating and implementingcompliance and compliance procedures

Strong Experience in risks relating to banking, and the legislative/regulatory requirements around these (e.g. Privacy Act, Corporations Act, NCCP Act).

Demonstrated experience with industry and governance standards (e.g. Three Lines of Defence, ISO 31000, APRA CPS220)
