Senior Designer – Playground and Landscape

About the Role

Working closely with our sales and construction teams, clients, and design colleagues, you’ll transform project briefs into innovative play and recreation concepts that balance creativity, functionality, buildability and commercial outcomes.

From local parks and schools through to landmark community developments, every project presents a new opportunity to create something unique. This is a hands‑on role that spans design and delivery — you’ll take ownership of projects from concept through to construction documentation.

What You’ll Be Doing

Designing engaging playgrounds and sports areas using CAD and presentation software.

Preparing documented works in CAD ready for construction, ensuring drawings are accurate and buildable.

Applying construction methodology knowledge to inform design decisions from an early stage.

Leading and mentoring members of the design team, guiding their work and supporting their development.

Working collaboratively with our sales and construction team, clients and bid writers to develop winning proposals.

Reviewing and providing constructive feedback on design work across the team.

Researching industry trends and competitor projects to keep our designs at the forefront of the market.

Managing multiple projects while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality.





Contributing to continuous improvement within the design team.

Maintaining accurate project management information and assisting with workflow planning when required.

About You

You’ll be someone who enjoys solving problems creatively while remaining organised, technically minded and commercially focused.

Ideally, you’ll bring:

A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a design role with solid construction knowledge.

A background in landscape architecture and construction.

Experience on site, with exposure to construction supervision and working alongside contractors.

Exposure to construction methodology, cost estimation, and bills of quantities.

Strong technical ability, with the skill to translate design concepts into documented works in CAD for construction.

Knowledge and understanding of the relevant Australian Playground and Sports Standards, including but not limited to: AS 4685 Playground Equipment and Surfacing and AS 4422 Playground Surfacing Specifications, requirements and test methods.

A creative eye with excellent attention to detail.

The ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Strong communication skills and confidence working with clients, contractors and internal teams.

A collaborative attitude with a willingness to support others.

Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systems would be advantageous but not essential.
