This is a key role in the Parking and Ground transport team, responsible for the leadership, administration and operational oversight of WSI’s ground transport and car rental services. Reporting to the Executive Manager Parking & Ground Transport, the role ensures effective management of ground transport and car rental operations, customer service, technology platforms, contractor performance, revenue protection, compliance, safety outcomes, and stakeholder engagement. Please note, this is a two year maximum term position. Beyond then, WSI will be a place of opportunity.
Key responsibilities
Lead and oversee the day-to-day operations of ground transport and car rental services that are provided on a 24/7 basis. Ensure service delivery meets customer expectations, operational requirements, and commercial objectives. Develop and maintain operational procedures, standards, service protocols and business continuity plans. Collaborate closely with Airport Operations Control Centre (AOCC), airport operations teams and key stakeholders to ensure seamless ground transport and car rental service delivery. Protect and optimize annual ground transport access and car rental revenues. Monitor compliance with contractual obligations, permits, access arrangements and commercial agreements. Manage billing, account administration, reporting and revenue assurance activities. Support commercial initiatives aimed at increasing utilization, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Oversee the administration and operational management of all authorized ground transport operators, including Taxi operators, Rideshare providers, Bus operators, Limousine services, Scheduled transport services Ensure operators comply with airport policies, service standards and contractual requirements. Manage parking and transport technology platforms and associated hardware, including systems such as Designa, TNS, Park Agility,
Neuvotek Work with vendors and internal technology teams to resolve issues and implement enhancements. Drive continuous improvement through technology innovation and automation. Manage service providers responsible for parking equipment, cleaning, maintenance and related services. Monitor contractor performance against service level agreements and key performance indicators. Identify and implement cost-saving and operational efficiency initiatives. Lead the management of ground transport customer enquiries, complaints and service recovery processes. Drive initiatives that enhance customer satisfaction and overall user experience. Promote a strong safety culture across ground transport and car rental operations by leading incident investigations, corrective actions and risk mitigation activities. Partner with Workplace Health and Safety teams to ensure compliance with all legislative and organisational requirements.
About you
This is a great opportunity if you have a background in ground transport operations from a large organisation. Tertiary degree qualification in Business or a related discipline is preferred. Over 5 years’ experience in fast paced transport environments, Airports would be highly regarded. Background in managing and overseeing ground transport or large transport-related operations. Excellent skills and experience building trusting and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Extensive customer service/client service experience with demonstrated ability to liaise with a diverse stakeholders.
Proven capability in effective communication, building business insights, a highly analytical and organised approach. Ability to negotiate and influence effectively. A keen sense of initiative by being a self-starter, with a proactive approach to tasks and collaborations. Have a quality-orientation that’s focused on proactivity and accuracy. A forward-thinking mindset that integrates AI and emerging technology to drive positive workflows and strategic outcomes. The ability to deal with ambiguity, complexity and critical thinking, taking an enterprise approach with strategic awareness whilst being customer focused and outcome oriented. High proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office packages. Excellent record keeping, data management, time-management and project management skills. Highly organized with robust planning skills, aligning and adaptability skills to manage conflicting priorities.
